Erin Faulkner leads Cats with a two-over 146

Pinehurst, N.C. – The UK women’s golf team sits in second place after two rounds at the Ross Resorts Invitational in Pinehurst, N.C. The Cats, who shot 36 holes on Monday, are currently one shot back from leader James Madison. Erin Faulkner leads Kentucky in third place after firing a two-over 146 at the par 72 Mid Pines Golf Club.

In addition to Faulkner, freshman Emily Culbertson, in her best showing to date, shot a 74 in the first round and currently stands in a tie for 10th place. Marissa Muir is one shot behind Culbertson with a total of 154, and Katie Dixon and Eva Gessner are tied for 24th with a 14-over 158.

Carol Green from James Madison and Darby Sligh from Alabama are tied for first place heading into the final round of play Tuesday. Both are three shots in front of Faulkner after posting a one-under 143 on Monday. Results from the final round will be available at www.ukathletics.com. Team scores:
