UK Women’s Basketball Reveals 2023-24 SEC Schedule
LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Kentucky women’s basketball program has a complete schedule for its 50th anniversary, as the league office revealed its conference slate for the upcoming season Wednesday. The Wildcats are scheduled to compete in 16 conference contests, including eight games at home and eight games on the road.
Kentucky will have home-and-home games against Arkansas, Mississippi State and South Carolina. UK also will make trips to Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, Auburn and LSU and host Vanderbilt, Missouri, Texas A&M, Florida and Ole Miss.
The Wildcats’ tip times and TV designations will be announced at a later date.
The challenging schedule, which features seven opponents invited to the 2023 NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament and two teams among the final four, begins at home against Arkansas on Jan. 4. The Wildcats will then hit the road to face the Lady Volunteers in Knoxville, Tennessee, on Jan. 7, before heading back home for a contest against Vanderbilt on Jan. 11. The Cats are back on the road to face their annual rival the Gamecocks in Columbia, South Carolina, on Jan. 15, then return home to meet Missouri on Jan. 21.
The Wildcats will then play two straight road games, first a rematch at the Razorbacks in Fayetteville, Arkansas, on Jan. 25 then at the Crimson Tide in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, on Jan. 28.
Turning the page into February, Kentucky will play its first of two games against Mississippi State at home on Feb. 1. Then, the team will play the Lady Bulldogs in Athens, Georgia, on Feb. 4. After that, UK will host Texas A&M on Feb. 11, before getting back on the road to play Auburn in Auburn, Alabama, on Feb. 15.
The Wildcats will get to play three of their next four games at home, starting with Florida at home on Feb. 18, then a repeat of Mississippi State in Starkville, Mississippi, on Feb. 22, followed by back-to-back homes games against South Carolina on Feb. 25 and Ole Miss on Feb. 29.
Kentucky will conclude its conference schedule at reigning national champions LSU in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on March 3.
The postseason begins with the 2024 SEC Women’s Basketball Tournament on March 6-10, which is returning to Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, South Carolina, for the seventh time in tournament history and the sixth time in the last eight years.
The Wildcats nonconference schedule has already been announced, including tip times and arena locations. Kentucky will rotate between Rupp Arena at the Central Bank Center and the Clive M. Beck Center on the campus of Transylvania University for the conference season as Memorial Coliseum undergoes renovations for the season.
