LEXINGTON ? Kentucky seniors Kim Coventry and Joelle Schwenk are ranked No. 1 in the Southeast Region latest Fila/ITA Regional rankings.
The pair enjoyed a tremendous run this fall by winning the Wilson/ITA Southeast Regional doubles championship before making a run to the semifinals of the National Indoor Championships. The pair posted a 7-1 record and knocked off four ranked opponents, including the nation?s top-ranked team twice.
Coventry also garnered singles recognition as she was ranked 24th in the region. She is currently ranked 50th nationally while Schwenk ranks 108th in singles.
The team is off until Jan. 20 when it hosts East Tennessee State and Murray State in a doubleheader beginning at Noon at the Boone Tennis Complex.
