Women's Gymnastics

LEXINGTON ? Kentucky head gymnastics coach, Hajile ?Mo? Muhammad has experienced a personal transformation as he has tawken his wife’s last name, changing his to Mitchell.

Muhammad, entering his third year at the helm of the UK gymnastics program, and Lynn Mitchell of Cincinnati, Ohio, married last year and Muhammad has decided to take new bride?s last name. He moves forward in life as Mo Mitchell.

?I felt it an honor to take my wife?s last name, she is an only child and it makes her very happy. I have 7 brothers so it was not an issue with me,? Mitchell said. ?Getting used to the new name will take some adjustments, but now I understand what women go through when they marry and have to go through the name change process.?

Mitchell and his squad kick off the 2007 season on Jan. 12 when they host defending national champion Georgia for ?Excite Night.? Kentucky is coming off the winningest season in school history and drew a sold-out, standing-room only crowd for last year?s Excite Night.
