HENDERSON, Nevada – The Kentucky men’s golf team moved up a spot into a tie for fourth at 5-over-par after 36 holes of the Lake Las Vegas Intercollegiate Tuesday at Reflection Bay Golf Club. Final-round play begins Wednesday morning.
Little Rock leads the tournament at 5-under followed by New Mexico State at 3-under, Long Beach State at 2-under and the Cats and Kansas City in a tie for fourth at 5-over.
Graduate Dhaivat Pandya tied for the second-lowest round of the day in the 96-competitor field, using five birdies to card a 3-under 69 to move into a tie for 10th with senior Alex Goff, who posted a 1-over 73 in the second round. The round tied Pandya’s low round of the season and marked his fifth round of par-or-better while Goff narrowly had his four-round streak of under-par totals snapped.
After a 2-under 70 Monday, freshman Kevin Watts faltered on the back nine Tuesday on his way to a 6-over 78, which ties him for 36th with 18 holes left to play. Junior Campbell Kremer and graduate Garrett Wood each recorded a 4-over 76 to sit in a tie for 41st and 66th, respectively.
Individually, senior Jackson LaLonde sits tied for 61st at 9-over while freshman Andrew Clark is tied for 79th at 16-over. Senior Cooper Parks, tied for 88th, and junior Tanner Parks, sitting 95th, round out the Wildcat competitors.
Through 36 holes, Kentucky leads the field with 115 pars while sitting tied for second in par-3 scoring at 10-over. Individually, Goff sits tied for second in par-4 scoring at 2-under and tied for fourth with 25 pars.
