Kentucky Hosts Undefeated Morehead State on Tuesday
Kentucky faces the first of five in-state opponents in 2023 when undefeated Morehead State puts its unblemished record to the test on Tuesday at Kentucky Proud Park. First pitch is set for 4 p.m. ET.
The Wildcats (5-2) are coming off a series victory over Wright State, which has appeared in each of the past two NCAA Tournaments. On Sunday, UK exploded for a 15-0 victory in which sophomore catcher Devin Burkes had a career-high seven runs batted in and became just the third UK player to drive in at least that many runs in a game in the past 15 seasons. Burkes also had seven doubles on the weekend and leads Division I in total doubles.
Morehead State also has been terrorizing pitchers, as junior Jackson Feltner already has four home runs and 12 RBI and an OPS north of 1.500.
Kentucky has won five consecutive meetings over the Eagles.
