Women’s Soccer Faces Ball State in 2022 Season Opener
LEXINGTON, Ky. – A new season, a new opponent and a new head coach. It’s all part of a night of new beginnings on Thursday at the Wendell & Vickie Bell Soccer Complex as The University of Kentucky women’s soccer team hosts Ball State in the first official competition of the 2022-23 Kentucky Athletics season.
The clash, scheduled to kick off at 7 p.m., is the first ever meeting between the Wildcats and Cardinals, and marks the official start of the Troy Fabiano era in Lexington.
UK students are encouraged to arrive at 6 p.m. for pre-match activities including cornhole, free food and more.
Admission to all Kentucky soccer home matches will be free to the public for the 2022 season. Those unable to attend can view the match live on SECN+.
Fabiano, who is in his first year with the Wildcats after spending the last seven seasons at Milwaukee, leads a revitalized Kentucky roster which features a total of 17 newcomers.
Senior forwards Jordyn Rhodes and Hannah Richardson are back and primed to lead the Wildcats’ attack, while an assemblage of experienced transfers including Hailey Farrington-Bentil, Rafferty Kugler and Taylor Hattori also figure to make an immediate impact.
