LEXINGTON, Ky. – University of Kentucky women’s basketball head coach Matthew Mitchell has become the latest Wildcat coach to create his own Twitter account.
With the launch of Mitchell’s official Twitter account, UKCoachMitchell, fans can receive instant updates, or “tweets,” directly from Coach Mitchell on the Internet or on their mobile phone.
“I felt like I was on the sidelines on this Twitter thing and I don’t like to be on the sidelines, I like to be in the action,” Mitchell said. “I have a couple of goals for my Twitter and they are to ‘tweet’ more than Coach Calipari and to get Coach Rich Brooks to join.”
Fans can go to http://twitter.com/UKCoachMitchell to follow his Twitter account. Users must create an account to join. Once logged in, fans have the choice of following other users, and they can activate their mobile devices to receive “tweets” as other users, including Coach Mitchell’s account, post them.
Twitter is a free service that lets users keep in touch with people through the exchange of quick, frequent answers to one simple question: What are you doing?
