LEXINGTON, Ky. – Senior Eric McGinnis capped off an incredible run at the World University Games with an 18th place finish in the 50-freestyle Friday in Serbia.

McGinnis finished his lone individual event in a time of 22.91, which was good for 18th overall in the world. Earlier in the week, McGinnis was a member of the winning 4×100-freestyle relay squad that will bring home a gold medal to the United States.

Today’s action wraps up McGinnis’ slated competition at the world event. He could be called upon for the men’s 4×200 freestyle relay Saturday.

Elsewhere, two UK swimmers senior Kyle Greene and junior Tyler Reed were among the field in the 100-freestyle at the 2009 ConcoPhillips National Championships in Indianapolis.

Greene slipped in 33rd place overall with an impressive time of 50.50. Reed secured 39th in a time of 50.92. Today’s event wraps up action for both returning athletes for the Blue and White.

Saturday, senior Megan Pulskamp will be the final Wildcat in the pool when she participates in the 100-freestyle.
