ROME – Senior Elvis Burrows wrapped up the 2009 World Championships with two more career-best times and a second top-30 finish of the week, Friday.
For the first time at the world event, Burrows competed in two events in a single day. In his first event, the 50-freestyle, Burrows captured his second top-30 finish of the Championships.
The Bahamas native clocked in a personal-best time of 23.19 for 29th place in the event. Earlier in the week he scored 26th overall in the 50-butterfly. Burrows entered the meet with a 23.19 time in the 50-free, and shaved the time significantly in a short-distance race.
Wrapping up his international event, Burrows notched his fourth personal best clip of the week in the 100-fly. He touched the wall in a time of 53.31 in the event to improve on his seeded time of 54.43.
