2002: His 22 appearances led the staff… First action of the season came in a 3-1 setback at UAB, pitching 4.2 innings and striking out four… Came in to slam the door in the ninth to preserve a 6-3 UK victory over Miami (Ohio) to earn his first career save (3/2)… Pitched 4.1 scoreless innings in relief in UK’s 6-5 10-inning win over Ball State (3/10)… Suffered first loss of the season in a 7-6 comeback victory by the Georgia Bulldogs in the finale of the three-game one-run loss series to UGA (4/21)… Earned first start of the season and struck out a season-high six batters in a no-decison, six-inning effort in UK’s 11-inning setback to Morehead State (5/7).

2001: Finished the season with a 1-0 mark in 32.1 innings pitched… One of only two pitchers on the Kentucky staff to end 2001 with a winning record… Recorded a 5.29 ERA, the third best on the team… Made 14 appearances and got the starting nod once… Only start came in a 14-5 UK victory over Morehead State, earning his first collegiate win (5/1)… Went six solid innings against the Racers, allowing five hits on two runs, walking none and fanning four… Walked only seven batters while striking out 18 on the season… Had at least one strikeout in 11 of 14 in which he pitched… Appeared in five SEC games, striking out six and walking two.
