• Three-year letter winner and two-year starter at quarterback for Leo Catholic High School in Chicago
• otaled 2,343 passing yards, 537 rushing yards and 21 touchdowns as a senior
• Had 1,821 passing yards, 734 rushing yards and 15 scores during his junior season
• Named the Catholic League MVP and earned honorable mention All-State honors
• A two-time first-team All-Catholic selection 
• Overcame a broken tibia and torn meniscus in his left leg suffered during a basketball game during his junior year … Returned to the football field one day before his first football game as a senior in 2016
• Coached by his dad, Michael Holmes
• A three-sport standout in basketball (point guard/shooting guard), baseball (left fielder) and track
• State qualifier in the high jump, long jump, 4×400 and 4×200 relay
• Earned All-Catholic League honors in track in 2017
• Excelled in the classroom as a four-time honor roll student and member of the National Honor Society
• Earned Student of the Month at least once per semester all four years
• Elected Student Council president as a senior
• Volunteered over 300 hours in community service during his prep career
• Chose Kentucky over Ball State, Northern Michigan and Augustana College
