BIO

One of the most prolific pass catchers in major college football history, Tommy Shuler, is in his first season at Kentucky as the assistant wide receivers coach. He works closely with wide receivers coach Joe Price III.

College football aficionados will remember Shuler during his time at Marshall from 2011-14. The three-year starter completed his impressive career as the Herd’s all-time leader in receptions with 322, a record that stood until 2016. That mark currently ranks No. 7 in NCAA history. Shuler eclipsed 1,000 yards receiving in three separate seasons (2012-14) and is No. 4 all-time in Marshall history in receiving yards (3,563). Additionally, he ranks No. 6 in touchdown receptions with 25.  Shuler had 12 career games with 100 yards receiving and finished his career with at least one reception in 41 consecutive games.

Shuler was the first three-time All-Conference USA first-team selection in Marshall history (10 seasons in league). He was inducted into the Marshall Athletics Hall of Fame in 2024.

He graduated from Marshall in 2022 with a degree in business administration and returned to his hometown of Miami to coach high school football, most recently serving as an assistant at his alma mater, Miami Central.

The Miami native was a standout wide receiver at Miami Central High School from 2008-10, where he produced more than 3,000 receiving yards and 30 touchdowns, and led the Rockets to their first state championship title in 2010.
