Brytun Walker enters his fourth season overall with Kentucky Football, his third as an assistant athletic trainer. He joined the Wildcats in July of 2023 as an athletic trainer fellow before earning a promotion to assistant athletic trainer in August 2024.
As an athletic trainer fellow, Walker played an integral role in the day-to-day care of Wildcat student-athletes for football, rifle and stunt. He evaluated and rehabilitated musculoskeletal injuries, developed injury prevention programs, managed undergraduate athletic training students, and assisted team physicians with medical procedures, including injections and IV administration. Walker also coordinated medical appointments and transportation, maintained prescription medications while educating student-athletes on their use, facilitated NCAA and university drug testing, documented injuries and rehabilitation progress, and oversaw the preparation of medical supplies.
Walker arrived at Kentucky following a graduate assistantship at TCU during the spring of 2023, where he assisted with the treatment and rehabilitation of the football team, supervised undergraduate athletic training students, and helped oversee daily sports medicine operations.
Prior to TCU, Walker served as a graduate athletic training student at Georgia during the 2022 football season. He assisted with fall camp, practices, game-day operations and team travel while supporting injury prevention efforts and maintaining medical documentation.
In 2022, Walker also completed clinical rotations at Emory Orthopedic & Spine Center in Flowery Branch, Georgia, where he assisted physicians and athletic trainers with patient evaluations, injections, medical imaging review and rehabilitation. During the same year, he served as an offseason athletic training intern with the Atlanta Falcons, helping implement rehabilitation programs and therapeutic treatments under the supervision of the organization’s sports medicine staff
Walker began his athletic training career in 2019 as a sports medicine intern at Jacksonville University, assisting with injury treatment, rehabilitation and the daily operation of the training room.
A native of Buford, Georgia, Walker earned his bachelor’s degree in kinesiology from Jacksonville University in 2020 before receiving a master’s degree in athletic training from the University of North Georgia in 2023.
