Wildcats Travel to Harrisonburg for Road Matchup with James Madison
LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky Wildcats (1-9-3, 1-4-1 SBC) are set to head back out on the road for a matchup against current Sun Belt leaders James Madison (7-5-2, 4-1-1 SBC) on Sunday in Harrisonburg, Va.
Kentucky faces James Madison for the 7th time in program history. Last year, the Wildcats defeated the Dukes in a 2-0 win in Lexington, improving their all-time series record to 4-1-1.
The Wildcats will look to snap a four-match losing streak and claim their second Sun Belt Conference win of the season against the current SBC leaders in Harrisonburg.
10 different Wildcats have recorded goals thus far this season, including four with two scores apiece. In the midweek matchup against Coastal Carolina, midfielder Yasha Schaerer scored a penalty to join Costa Iliadis, Agustin Lopez and Michael Lee on two goals through the first 13 games of the season.
On the defensive end, goalkeeper Benjamin Rasmussen currently ranks second in the Sun Belt Conference with 45 saves and in saves per match at 4.09.
James Madison enters match day 15 of their season looking to get back in the win column coming off a 1-0 defeat against Marshall earlier in the week, dropping their overall record to 7-5-2 on the year and 4-1-1 in conference play. After finishing the 2025 season at the bottom of the conference standings, the Dukes currently rank atop the Sun Belt table with 13 points with three games remaining in the regular season.
JMU is led on the offensive end by leading goalscorers Carlos Camara Tur and Manuel Lolas with four goals each and by midfielder Chris Niblock with five assists. On the defensive side, the Dukes have allowed just 11 goals this season, which ranks second in the Sun Belt.
