LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky women’s soccer team is set to make their season debut on Wednesday evening, hosting Detroit Mercy. The match is set to begin at the Bell Soccer Complex in Lexington at 7:30 p.m. ET and will also be available to stream on the SEC Network +.

The Wildcats are looking to build off the backs of an impressive 2025 campaign that saw an impressive 12 wins to mark the program’s largest amount since 2014, a fifth place SEC finish, an NCAA appearance for the second consecutive year, and the third consecutive year defeating a top 10 opponent in a thriller over No. 8 South Carolina.

The 2026 squad will be full of fresh faces, with 14 newcomers—8 freshmen and six transfers—on a roster of 25 players.

Three Wildcats were named to the 2026 SEC Preseason Watch List—forward Lexi Tylenda, midfielder Nadia Ramadan, and defender Michelle Moskau.

Head Coach Troy Fabiano is entering his fifth season at the helm of Kentucky women’s soccer. Fabiano’s winning total has increased in each of his three seasons in Lexington, culminating in last year’s historic campaign.

In addition to the opener, the Wildcats will close out the opening weekend of the season on Sunday, August 16 by taking on Kent State at The Bell at 1 p.m. ET.

Admission to all 2026 Kentucky Soccer regular season home matches will be free to the public. For the latest on UK Women’s Soccer, follow the Wildcats on FacebookInstagram, X and at UKathletics.com.
