Coleton Price Earns Spot on The Rimington Trophy 2026 Watch List
LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky senior Coleton Price has been tabbed to The Rimington Trophy preseason watch list for the nation’s top center, it was announced by the organization on Thursday.
Price, a key offseason addition by first-year head coach Will Stein, played his previous three seasons at Baylor. He has seen action in 32 career games and made 30 starts. This marks the second consecutive season that the Bowie, Texas, native has earned a spot on The Rimington Trophy’s preseason watchlist.
A durable and reliable cog on the line, Price has been a full-time starter since the 2024 season. He logged a team-high 935 offensive snaps as a sophomore, while allowing just 10 total pressures on 449 pass-blocking snaps.
Baylor finished among the national leaders in fewest tackles for loss allowed (fourth) and ranked in the top 40 in fewest sacks allowed, while producing a top-20 offense in scoring and total offense during Price’s first season commanding the line.
As a redshirt sophomore with the Bears, Price allowed just one sack on 526 pass block snaps. He was an All-Big 12 Offensive Linemen Second Team selection by Pro Football Network College.
His junior season saw him log 842 snaps, with 526 coming in pass-block scenarios. He earned an 83.6 pass-block grade and a 69.5 run-block grade from Pro Football Focus. Price allowed just one sack, six quarterback hurries and seven total pressures, while starting 11 of 12 outings. He was a cornerstone to Baylor’s offense ranking as the No. 3 passing offense in the country, the 12th-best squad in first-down offense and the No. 21 overall total offense.
Entering his first season with the Wildcats, PFF ranked Price as one of the top five returning centers in the country.
This year, The Rimington Trophy committee worked with PFF to narrow down its list to the top 40 centers. PFF grades every player on every play of every game on how well they execute their given assignment. That play-by-play grading allowed the Trophy committee to create a watch list based both on nominations from the schools and data provided by PFF.
Price is the second member of the Big Blue Wall to earn preseason national recognition. Earlier this week, Lance Heard was named to the Outland Trophy watch list for the nation’s top interior lineman. The line is slated to be one of the best units for Stein’s first-year offense. CBS Sports’ Blake Brockermeyer ranked Kentucky’s line as the No. 3 unit in the country entering the season.
