Three Kentucky Products to Compete at ISCO Championship
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Kentucky men’s golf will once again be well represented at this week’s ISCO Championship with three Wildcat products in the field for the PGA Tour competition, July 9-12 at Hurstbourne Country Club.
J.B. Holmes (’05), Cooper Musselman (’18) and Jansen Preston (’25), all Kentucky natives, are set to tee it up this week, battling for a $4 million purse and 300 FedExCup points.
Holmes will make the start in the ISCO Championship for the second-consecutive season in 2026. He missed the cut in 2025 with scores of 74-72 (+6). For Musselman, this will mark his fifth appearance at the ISCO Championship, his best finish coming back in 2024 when he tied for 31st at 12-under par. Preston will be making his PGA Tour debut after going through both pre-qualifying and final qualifying to earn a place in the field.
Among the most accomplished professionals in Kentucky men’s golf history, Holmes is a five-time winner on the PGA Tour and a two-time member of the United States Ryder Cup team. He has played more than 350 career events on tour and earned more than $25 million in prize money. Holmes recently competed in the 2026 U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills, his first major championship appearance since 2019. As a Wildcat, Holmes was a four-time All-American and helped Kentucky win the 2005 Southeastern Conference Championship on his way to being named SEC Golfer of the Year. He placed seventh at the 2005 NCAA Championship, the highest ever finish by a Wildcat.
Musselman played at Kentucky from 2013 to 2018, finishing his college career with a 72.91 scoring average. He was the individual champion at the Crooked Stick Intercollegiate during his senior year. A native of Louisville, Kentucky, Musselman has made seven career PGA Tour starts.
Just over a year into his professional career, Preston spent his final two years of college at Kentucky before graduating in 2025. A Lexington, Kentucky native, Preston started 21 events for the Wildcats and posted a 72.97 scoring average while tallying six top 20 finishes. He qualified for this week’s ISCO Championship by virtue of shooting a 64 (-8) in pre-qualifying and a 66 (-6) in this Monday’s final qualifier. Preston then advanced through an eight-for-four playoff to secure his spot in the field.
