Wildcats Win Bluegrass Collegiate Invitational to Close Regular Season

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky men’s golf earned its second win of the spring, closing out the Bluegrass Collegiate Invitational with a team score of 858 (+6) to win by four shots at the University Club of Kentucky’s Big Blue Course (par 71, 7013 yards) on Tuesday.
“Super proud of the guys this week,” head coach Gator Todd said. “It’s never easy winning and I don’t want us to take it for granted. This should give us some real momentum heading into SECs.”
Three Wildcats placed inside the top five, while all five UK starters were within the top 15 as Kentucky held off Marquette to claim the team title in a field of 17 teams and 92 golfers. It marked the second win for the squad this season, with the Cats having also won the Colleton River Collegiate back in early March. It is the first time Kentucky has won multiple tournaments in the same season since 2017-18.
Cole Stockard also claimed the second individual title of his freshman campaign, sharing medalist honors with Marquette’s Vinny Cervantes at even par for the tournament. Stockard was powered in large part by his bogey-free second round, where the freshman carded a blemish free 67 to put himself in contention. The Dalton, Georgia native now has wins in both of UK’s home events this season, adding the Bluegrass Collegiate Invitational crown to his triumph at the Cullan Brown Collegiate this past fall.
Stockard was joined in the top five by teammates Jack Schoenberger and Cameron Phillips. Schoenberger finished in fourth at 2-over par, while Phillips tied for fifth at 3-over par. Stockard and Schoenberger tied for the team lead in birdies with 10 apiece, while Philips carded nine. Schoenberger made just six bogeys on the week, the fewest in the field.
For Phillips, who was making just his second appearance in the starting lineup, the T5 finish was the best of his freshman campaign, improving upon his T14 result at the Cullan Brown Collegiate. Schoenberger, meanwhile, secured his second top five of the spring season.
The Wildcats’ other two starters, Jacob Lang and Jacob Settles, also registered top 15 finishes on their home turf. Lang was even par in his final round to move up into a tie for 12th at 7-over, while Settles tied for 15th at 9-over par total. For Lang, the finish was his best of the 2025-26 season and his third top 20.
Luke Coyle and Charles Cauthen competed as individuals this week for UK, with Coyle coming in a tie for 28th at 12-over par, while Cauthen finished tied for 77th at 23-over.
With the regular season now in the books, the Wildcats will turn their attention to the Southeastern Conference Championship, set for April 22-26 at Sea Island Golf Club in St. Simons Island, Georgia.
