Kentucky Opens SEC Tournament Wednesday

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Kentucky (16-12, 5-9 SEC) will begin its postseason at the 2026 Southeastern Conference Men’s Tennis Championship at the Mitchell Tennis Center in College Station, Texas on Wednesday, April 15. The 11th-seeded Wildcats will begin their run against No. 14 seed Arkansas (16-13, 3-11 SEC) in the First Round at 3 p.m. ET.

The Wildcats enter the Tournament just outside the ITA Top 25, sitting at No. 26 in the latest computer rankings. Four singles players find themselves in the ITA Rankings, led by No. 21 Eli Stephenson. No. 54 Nicolas Arseneault reached a new career high after a pair of ranked wins last weekend. No. 82 Jack Loutit and No. 114 Charlelie Cosnet round out the quartet.

Three Kentucky doubles teams are in the ITA Doubles Rankings, with All-American Loutit and Stephenson holding strong at No. 17. Cosnet and Martin Breysach sit at No. 83 and Arseneault and Matt Rankin are at No. 90.

Kentucky and Arkansas met in the regular season, with the Razorbacks taking a 4-3 win in Fayetteville. Arkansas claimed points in doubles and on the top three singles courts to stave off a Wildcat comeback attempt and earn its first win in the series since 2019.

Wednesday’s meeting will be the fourth time in the last six years that Kentucky and Arkansas have played in the SEC Tournament. Kentucky won each of the previous three with victories in 2021, 2022, and 2024.

The winner of Wednesday’s First Round contest will advance to play sixth-seeded and ITA No. 12 Georgia (17-7, 9-5 SEC) in the Second Round at 3 p.m. ET on Thursday, April 16.
