Kentucky STUNT Completes Bluegrass Classic Sweep
LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky STUNT team completed a sweep of the 2026 Bluegrass Classic on Monday, topping Mercyhurst and Northern Kentucky inside Historic Memorial Coliseum.
Kentucky (4-0) opened the day with a 39-17 win over Mercyhurst, setting a program record for most points in a game in the process.
The Cats opened strong in the first quarter, partner stunts, scoring points on all four routines. UK led 6-3 after one period. In quarter two, pyramids and tosses, Kentucky again scored on all four routines and the Cats took a 13-6 lead into the half.
In the third quarter, jumps and tumbling, the scoring streak continued for the Cats. By the end of the period, UK had built a 20-10 lead. In the fourth quarter, Kentucky outscored Mercyhurst 19-7 to put away the win.
The Cats would pitch their first shutout of the season in game two, topping Northern Kentucky 22-0.
Against Northern Kentucky, the Cats got off to another quick start. UK outscored NKU 3-0 in the partner stunts period to establish an early lead. In the second quarter, Kentucky extended the lead by taking all four points, which gave UK a 7-0 lead at the half.
In the third quarter, the Cats swept through all four points in jumps and tumbling to stretch the lead to 11-0. Then in the fourth quarter, team routine, Kentucky took 11 of 12 possible points to provide for the final margin of victory.
Kentucky returns to action on Friday, Feb. 13, facing Missouri Baptist and Arizona State in Shawnee, Oklahoma.
