Evan Byers Named to SEC Community Service Team

Left-handed pitcher Evan Byers has been named to the 2024 Southeastern Conference Community Service Team, the league announced Wednesday.

The redshirt junior from Nicholasville, Kentucky has made an impact on multiple communities during his time with Kentucky baseball, including his hometown, the Cincinnati area and in his summer baseball stops. He has worked with the Jessamine County, where Nicholasville is located, youth baseball program and animal care organizations. He has packed Christmas gifts for children and served as a “buddy” for the Miracle League baseball program.

Byers also has worked with the Make-A-Wish Foundation and served as a community mentor. He leads the team in community service hours during the 2023-24 season.
