Kentucky Baseball Releases 2027 Schedule
Kentucky baseball will once again face one of the nation’s most difficult schedules in 2027, including nine games against teams that reached the 2026 College World Series and 22 total versus programs that advanced to a NCAA regional last season.
UK will open the 2027 season on Friday, February 19 at South Alabama. The Wildcats begin the season with seven road games, including a neutral site midweek game versus Louisiana and weekend trip to Southeast Missouri State.
The Wildcats will play 25 home games at Kentucky Proud Park next spring with the home opener scheduled March 3 against Morehead State. UK also will open and close Southeastern Conference play in Lexington with Georgia coming to town March 19-21 and LSU on May 20-22.
UK will play its annual home and home series with Louisville on Tuesday, April 6 (Louisville, Ky.) and Tuesday, April 27 (Lexington, Ky.). Additionally, the Cats will host Bowling Green (Mar. 5-7) and Missouri State (Mar. 12-14) in three-game series before conference play begins.
The Cats also will travel to defending national champion Oklahoma on April 16-18 as part of their only back-to-back road trips in SEC play. UK heads to Vanderbilt the weekend before taking on the Sooners in Norman, Oklahoma.
After the back-to-back road trips UK returns home to host Florida in the SEC’s weekly showcase series that runs Thursday night through Saturday.
As has become custom with UK’s scheduling process the non-conference slate before league play opens Mar. 19 is challenging. Louisiana and SEMO each have won 30 or more games in five of the past six seasons while Missouri State and South Alabama each have four such campaigns. In total, those four opponents have won at least 30 games in 18 of their past 24 full seasons since the COVID-shortened 2020 season.
Game times and television assignments will be announced at a later date, as well as season and single-game ticket information. UK also still is exploring the option of adding games to the schedule on March 16 and April 20.
The Cats are entering their 11th season under head coach Nick Mingione and have won 326 games during his tenure, including a College World Series appearance in 2024. The program signed top 10 transfer portal and top 10 high school recruiting classes in the offseason and is the only SEC program to reach the past four regional championships.
