No. 3 Kentucky Opens Big Week at Rival Louisville
Fresh off a third straight Southeastern Conference series sweep, Kentucky will put its new No. 3 ranking to work at Louisville on Tuesday night in the final of a five-game road trip.
The Cats (30-5, 14-1 SEC) saw themselves soar into the Top 5 in the D1Baseball.com Top 25 after a sweep at Auburn last weekend that saw them cap it by erasing a 7-0 deficit for a 13-8 victory. The Cats clubbed 11 home runs in three games and now have positioned themselves two games clear of No. 2 Arkansas at the SEC’s midpoint.
The first game of a scheduled home-and-home against Louisville was postponed due to weather so this will be the first meeting this season between the two schools. Both schools lost their midweek game last week, each on the road.
On Friday, UK will open a three-game series with No. 4 Tennessee at Kentucky Proud Park in one of the program’s most anticipated series in its history. In the meantime, Tuesday’s game will air at 7 p.m. ET on the ACC Network.
