Kentucky STUNT Falls in National Title Game

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky STUNT team lost to California Baptist 21-10 on Sunday in the Division I STUNT national championship game at the Clive M. Beck Center at Transylvania University.

Kentucky (19-8) finished as the national runner-up for the second consecutive season. The 2024 season was just the third in which UK had a STUNT program.

On Sunday, CBU jumped out to an early lead, winning the first two points of the first quarter, partner stunts. The teams tied on the third routine before CBU won the final point, taking a 4-1 lead.

In the second quarter, pyramids and tosses, CBU was able to build its lead by winning all four points while holding Kentucky without a tally. The Lancers led 8-1 at the half.

Kentucky would rally in the third quarter, jumps and tumbling. The teams tied the first routine and the Cats won the second. The Lancers won the third point and the teams tied on the final routine. CBU led 11-4 through three quarters.

California Baptist put the game out of reach in the fourth quarter, team routine. The teams tied the first point of the quarter but CBU won the next two. In total, the Lancers would earn 10 points in the final stanza compared to six for the Cats.
