Kentucky STUNT Rolls Past Maryville

MARTIN, Tenn. – The Kentucky STUNT team cruised to a 19-9 win over Maryville on Saturday in the first game of the UT Martin Tournament.

Kentucky (6-4) started off the first quarter, partner stunts, by winning points on all four routines in the period. The Cats led 4-0 through one quarter.

In the second quarter, pyramids and tosses. Kentucky claimed the first two points of the period before Maryville got on the board by winning the last two points of the quarter. Kentucky would hold a 6-2 lead at halftime.

The third quarter, jumps and tumbling, was close throughout. Kentucky won the first point before Maryville won the second. The teams tied on the third routine and the Cats won the final routine, giving UK a 9-4 lead with one period remaining.

Kentucky put the game away early in the fourth quarter, team routine. The Cats won two points on each of the first two routines, then won three points on the third routine to put the game out of reach.

UK returns to action later on Saturday, facing the host team, UT Martin, at 4:30 p.m. ET.
