How It Happened

  • Both teams shot 46.7 percent on 7-of-15 from the field in the first quarter as Kentucky and Florida were tied, 17-17, at the end of the period.
    • The Wildcats went 3-of-7 from the arc in that period.
  • Eniya Russell scored nine points in the second quarter on 3-of-6 from the arc, a 3-pointer and 2-of-2 from the line to lead UK in the third quarter.
    • Maddie Scherr and Amiya Jenkins combined for another eight points, as Kentucky led Florida, 36-34, at halftime.
  • The Wildcats trailed the Gators, 60-54, despite making just one less field goal.
    • One difference in the third quarter was at the line, as the Gators went 10-of-14 and the Cats went just 4-of-7.
    • Florida also scored six points off Kentucky’s six turnovers in that period.
  • Down six points to start the fourth quarter, Kentucky chipped away at Florida’s lead through the first five minutes of the period.
    • Amiya Jenkins’ layup and Maddie Scherr’s jumper helped UK tied UF, 69-69, just under the five-minute mark.
    • Florida regained a two-point lead on the next possesion, but Kentucky followed with a 5-0 run to take the lead and keep it until the end of the game.
