LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky men’s golf graduate-student Alex Goff has been named to the watch list for the 2024 Ben Hogan Award in a joint announcement from the Hogan Trophy Award Foundation, the Friends of Golf and the Golf Coaches Association of America on Friday.

The annual award honors the top NCAA Division I, II or III, NAIA or NJCAA college golfer based on all collegiate, amateur and professional events over the previous 12 months. This’s years watch list includes 40 golfers, 11 of which hail from SEC schools. A total of 10 semifinalists will be revealed on April 19, with the three finalists to be announced May 2. The winner will be crowned at a black-tie dinner, May 20 at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas.

Past recipients of the prestigious honor include Ludvig Aberg, Patrick Cantlay, Rickie Fowler, Viktor Hovland, Jon Rahm and more.

Goff began the 2024 spring season by finishing tied for fourth at the Battle at Briar’s Creek this week with a 36-hole total of 2-under par. It was Goff’s fifth-straight top six finish dating back to the fall. The Kings Mountain, North Carolina native has a career scoring average of 71.49 to date, the best at UK all-time. He has also totaled 68 rounds of par or better, the third most in program history.

Goff has now been named to two major collegiate golf award lists this season, having also been recognized on a 20-man Haskins Award Watch List in November.

UK resumes tournament play at the Gators Invitational, Feb. 17-18 at Mark Bostick Golf Course.
