by ACPR

Barion Brown has been named a second team all-american by CBS Sports, it was announced Wednesday. He earned the honor as a kick returner, which saw him bookend the regular season with kickoff returns for touchdowns in both the 2023 season opener and final game of the regular season.

He also earned a third-team All-America honor from College Football Network and was a second-team All-SEC choice from the league’s coaches and The Associated Press.

Brown, a 6-foot-1, 174-pound sophomore from Nashville, concluded the regular season ranked first in the SEC and second in the nation on 31.7 yards per kickoff return. He was the only player in the SEC and one of five players in the nation to have recorded two kickoff return touchdowns in 2023. He also led UK in pass receptions with 40, good for 439 yards and three scores, had three punt returns for 51 yards (17.0 average), and had 10 rushing attempts for 121 yards (12.1 average).
