Max Miller Named Sun Belt Second Team All-Conference

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky men’s soccer sophomore Max Miller was named Sun Belt Second Team All-Conference, the conference announced Friday afternoon.

Earlier in the week, Miller was named to TopDrawerSoccer’s Men’s Team of the Week. The honor was the Lexington native’s first of the season following an assist to freshman Alfred Baafi in the 32nd minute of last Friday’s contest against No. 2 previously undefeated West Virginia. The defender leads the 2023 squad in assists with a total of six which doubles his freshman year tally.

“Max has stepped up as a leader and taken charge this season,” said head coach Johan Cedergren. “His maturity on the ball and with his teammates has been instrumental in our defensive success. I’m looking forward to his continued development and am very pleased with this conference recognition.”

Miller was named to the preseason all-conference team ahead of the 2023 match slate. In his sophomore season, he has played in all 16 regular season matches recording 16 starts and 1420:10 minutes of playing time. In addition to his contribution of six assists, Miller has also recorded 12 shots with two on goal.

Kentucky is unbeaten in its last seven games (3-0-4) to improve to 6-6-4 with a 3-3-3 mark in conference play. The Wildcats will take on James Madison in the first round of the Sun Belt Conference Tournament Sunday.
