Kentucky Faces Alabama in SEC Baseball Tournament on Tuesday

Update: First pitch will be at 6:50 p.m. ET

No. 21 Kentucky begins play in the 2023 SEC Baseball Tournament on Tuesday in Hoover, Alabama. The Cats, who earned the eighth seed in the event, will face ninth-seeded Alabama. First pitch is scheduled for approximately 5:30 p.m. ET.

Kentucky (36-17) closed the season by winning five of its last nine games, which becomes even more impressive with a deeper dive into the schedule. UK faced third-ranked South Carolina, visited No. 18 Tennessee, and hosted third-ranked Florida in the final three series of the season. Kentucky went 5-4 in those nine games, including a sweep of South Carolina at Kentucky Proud Park.

Tuesday’s game between the Cats and the Tide is single elimination, with the loser going home. The winner will advance to the double elimination portion of the tournament, beginning with a game against Florida at 5:30 p.m. ET on Wednesday.
