Day Two Results

AUBURN, Alabama – Alex Goff, a senior on the Kentucky men’s golf team, posted an even-par 72 Tuesday to sit in a tie for eighth at 1-under-par after 36 holes of the NCAA Auburn Regional at Auburn University Club. Goff is one of just 10 players under par, standing six strokes back of leader Christoph Bleier of Colorado State.

For the third-consecutive round, Goff will be in the last group off, teeing off in the final round at 11:34 a.m. ET Wednesday.

The low five teams and low individual from a non-advancing team at the Regional will earn a trip to Scottsdale, Arizona, for the NCAA Championship May 26-31 at Grayhawk Golf Club.

Goff opened with an even-par 36 on the front nine, making birdie at the third and seventh holes, both par-5’s, and bogey at the par-3 fifth and par-4 sixth. Birdies at the par-4 10th and par-5 16th moved Goff up to 3-under for the tournament but a double-bogey at the difficult par-3 17th moved the Second-Team All-SEC selection back to even on the day and 1-under for the tournament.

The round marked Goff’s team-high 24th round of par-or-better this season. Goff has been able to put together 18 rounds of par-or-better in his last 20 played.
