Men’s Soccer Announces 2023 Spring Schedule
LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky Men’s Soccer will enter a five-match spring stretch beginning next month, the program announced on Wednesday. The schedule will feature three home matches at the Wendell & Vickie Bell Soccer Complex and two on the road.
Kicking off the spring season on March 4, the Cats will travel to Cincinnati, Ohio for a matchup against FC Cincinnati MLS Next Pro. Match time is set for 1 p.m. EST at TQL Stadium.
UK will then return to The Bell the following weekend for a 3 p.m. match against Lexington’s new USL League One team – Lexington Sporting Club. The match on March 11 will be the first between the two teams.
Following a three-week break, the Cats will be back at The Bell on April 1 to continue the spring schedule hosting Bellarmine on the pitch at 7 p.m. Kentucky has only gone head-to-head with the Knights once in 2021 which resulted in a Wildcat 2-1 victory in Lexington.
UK’s second road match will take place at Saint Louis University for a Noon spring contest at Robert R. Hermann Stadium. The Wildcats and Billikens have only faced each other one time in program history. Kentucky came out on top thanks to a successful 4-2 penalty shootout following a 4OT 0-0 draw. The win resulted in the Cats moving on to the next round of the NCAA Tournament in 2000.
The last spring appearance for the Wildcats will be at 5 p.m. on April 22. Kentucky will host in-state rival Northern Kentucky at The Bell. The two programs faced off in 2022 for the last exhibition match of pre-season play.
All spring home contests at The Bell will include free entry for all members of Big Blue Nation.
