Kentucky STUNT Falls to Davenport in National Tournament

SAN ANTONIO – The Kentucky STUNT team fell to Davenport University 12-8 on Saturday in the 2022 STUNT national championship tournament.

With the loss, Kentucky’s inaugural season came to a close. The Cats finished with a 7-7 record.

In Saturday’s game, Kentucky earned the first point of the game but Davenport won the next two and held a 2-1 lead after one quarter of play.

Kentucky won the first point of the second period to tie the game at 2-2. But Davenport won the next three points to take a 5-2 lead into the half.

Davenport appeared to be pulling away in the third quarter and the Panthers would hold an 8-3 advantage with one stanza remaining.

Kentucky would need a rally in the fourth quarter to stay in the game, and the Cats got that early in the quarter. UK won four of the first six points to get within three, 10-7, with one routine remaining. But Davenport took two of the final three points to hold on for a four-point win.
