Kentucky Football Blue-White Spring Game is Saturday
The Kentucky football team will hold its annual Blue-White Spring Game presented by Academy Sports + Outdoors on Saturday, April 9 at Kroger Field. The scrimmage is set to begin at 1 p.m.
Admission is free for all fans. Those who are unable to attend can watch the game on SEC Network Plus or listen on the UK Sports Network.
Kentucky was 10-3 last season and finished the campaign with a come-from-behind win over Iowa in the Citrus Bowl. UK won 10 games in a season for just the fourth time in school history, but the second time in the last four years.
The 2022 Cats will return a number of key pieces from last year’s team. Quarterback Will Levis returns to run the offense and he’ll have steady running back Chris Rodriguez Jr. in the backfield, to go along with a number of talented younger players on offense.
The defense will be anchored by linebackers Jacquez Jones, DeAndre Square and Jordan Wright. Carrington Valentine will lead a young but talented secondary, while the defensive line will be young but not inexperienced.
Kentucky will begin the 2022 season on Sept. 3 against Miami (Ohio) at Kroger Field. That will be the first of eight home games this season. Kentucky will host defending national champion Georgia on Nov. 19, followed by the Governor’s Cup game against Louisville on Nov. 26. UK will also host South Carolina, Mississippi State and Vanderbilt for SEC games.
