Kentucky STUNT Signs Mary Kate Miesner

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky STUNT interim head coach Blair Bergmann has announced that Mary Kate Miesner has signed with the program.

Miesner, a native of Chesterfield, Missouri, is the first signee in program history. Miesner attends Marquette High School, where she has been a rising star throughout her career. She was captain of her junior varsity squad as a freshman and was later a member of a state champion squad that also placed third in the nation.

“Kentucky is the next step of my life and I know it will bring so many amazing opportunities,” Miesner said. “I am excited for the next four years as a Wildcat and can’t wait to see where it brings me.”

Miesner will be eligible for competition beginning next season.

“We are so excited to have Mary Kate join our roster for the 2022-2023 season,” Bergmann said. “She has a strong work ethic and the skills to match. With her addition I immediately see our competitiveness in stunts and jumps increase.”

STUNT is a head-to-head competition between two teams that focuses on the technical and athletic aspects of cheer. It is one of the fastest-growing female sports in the United States. Kentucky is one of 56 universities, including NCAA and NAIA varsity and club teams, that are sponsoring the sport for the 2022 season. Nine more schools are committed to begin in 2023.
