Red-Hot Cats Welcome No. 9 Alabama in Final SEC Home Meet

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Coming off back-to-back record-setting performances, No. 13 Kentucky (4-5, 2-3 Southeastern Conference) looks to keep that same energy flowing when it takes on No. 9 Alabama (8-3, 3-2 SEC) on Friday at 7 p.m. ET. The meet will air live on SEC Network+ and re-air on ESPN2 on Sunday at 6 p.m.

Facing their third straight opponent ranked within the top 10 of the RoadToNationals.com national standings, the Wildcats are set to take part in their last SEC home meet of 2019. When Alabama last visited Lexington in 2017, Kentucky emerged with the best score in school history (197.475) and its first win over the Crimson Tide.

Last Friday, the Cats reset the program’s second-best all-around score that had only been in place for one week. Kentucky followed Feb. 8’s 197.150-196.025 win over No. 5 LSU with a 197.225-197.300 loss to No. 7 Georgia in its most recent bout.

In the loss to the Bulldogs, UK’s bars team scored a school-record 49.250, led by a tie for the school’s second-best individual bars mark (9.950) via Mollie Korth. The bars win was the junior’s 13th of her career, while senior Sidney Dukes earned her 11th career beam victory and fellow senior Alex Hyland earned both the fourth vault and fourth all-around wins of her storied career.
