UKTF Set for First Road Weekend of 2019
CLEMSON, S.C. and NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The indoor track and field season rolls on for Kentucky this weekend at two meets – the Clemson Invitational and the Vanderbilt Invitational.
The weekend will mark UK’s first away competitions of the calendar year. The Wildcats will compete at the Razorback Invitational, which will be televised live, next Saturday on SEC Network and then return home for the annual McCravy Memorial Meet the first weekend in February.
Kentucky is sending 26 women and 21 men to Clemson, while UK will have three women and two men – all of them throwers – at Vanderbilt.
The weekend starts in the field at 2:30 p.m. ET at Clemson on Friday with the first of three races on the track beginning at 4:30 p.m. ET.
At Vanderbilt women’s and men’s weight throws will be contested at 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. ET respectively.
Kentucky Wildcats won nine events and had a further three top collegians win events at the inaugural Jim Green Invitational inside Nutter Field House last weekend.
Daniel Roberts was named Southeastern Conference Men’s Runner of the Week on Tuesday after a dominant opening weekend of 2019.
The UK women’s team is ranked No. 10 in the initial 2019 computer rankings from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
