UKXC Set for First Road Test at Texas A&M

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The Kentucky cross country teams will return to competition, hitting the road for the first time this season, at the Texas A&M Invitational Saturday.
The meet at the Dale Watts course will begin at 9:15 a.m. ET with a men’s 8,000-meter race followed by a women’s 6k at 10 a.m.

Collegiate teams competing in the Texas A&M Invitational include a pair of Southeastern Conference squads in the host and LSU while the Big 12 is represented by Baylor (women) and TCU.
The field also includes Central Arkansas, Houston, Houston Baptist, Lamar, Lipscomb (women), McNeese State, Midwestern State, Prairie View A&M, Rice, Sam Houston, Tarleton State, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Texas Southern, Texas Wesleyan, UTSA.
Kentucky has had two home meets so far this season. Kentucky’s women’s team has won both its dual meets, while Kentucky won its season-opening dual, before finishing third at the Bluegrass Invitational a fortnight ago.
Juniors Katy Kunc and Jacob Thomson were named the Southeastern Conference Runners of the Week after the Bluegrass Invitational.
Freshman Brennan Fields was named SEC Freshman of the Week after the season opener.
