LEXINGTON, Ky. – University of Kentucky men’s tennis senior Tom Jomby has been named an Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-American, it was announced by the ITA office. 

The 2014 All-America status for Jomby is the third time he has been named an All-American in his career and third honor in the last two years for the senior. Jomby was named an All-American in both singles and doubles in 2013.

Jomby finished the season as the No. 16 ranked player in the country and second-highest ranked player in the Southeastern Conference. Jomby, who was named the 2014 ITA Ohio Valley Player of the Year went 20-8 in his senior season in Lexington, and 7-4 on court one in the SEC. The Nantes, France native ends his career as one of the most decorated singles players in Kentucky tennis history, recording 99-career wins, good for 16th on the all-time list at UK.

Jomby, who was the highest-ranked singles player in the SEC for a majority of the season, racked up over 15 singles wins on court one this year, including over 14 wins over players ranked in the top-50 of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Rankings. He was the clinching match in Kentucky’s marquee win this season, as the Wildcats knocked off No. 1 Ohio State 4-1 in April. He was named first-team All-SEC in 2013 and 2014.

Jomby won 20 matches this season, all on the No. 1 court and finished his career just one win shy of  becoming just the 16th player all-time to eclipse the 100-career win mark at UK, joining his head coach, Cedric Kauffmann, and volunteer assistant coach, Anthony Rossi.
