LEXINGTON ? Collin Cowgill blasted a sixth-inning grand slam to lift the Blue to a 7-1 victory over the Black in Game One of the UK Baseball Fall World Series on Tuesday.

With two outs and the game knotted at 1-1, Cowgill launched the ball deep over the wall in left-center field to all but seal the victory. Cowgill finished the day 2-for-3.

The game was scoreless through four innings behind solid pitching by Duran Furguson and Craig Snipp, each of whom hurled three shutout innings. Snipp did not allow a hit.

Catcher Justin Scutchfield gave the Blue a 1-0 lead in the 5th with a two-out RBI hit. Mike Brown answered for the Black in the bottom half of the inning with his own two-out hit.

Blue team freshman Timmy Wimsatt drove in two with single in the seventh for the final margin.
