FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Kentucky athletes Dwight St. Hillaire, Lance Lang and Abby Steiner advanced to Saturday’s finals during the preliminaries of the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships Friday at the Randal Tyson Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Needing to be in the top eight of their events to qualify for the finals, St. Hillaire and Lang got the Wildcats off to a good start during the afternoon action.  Seeded 10th in the 400-meter dash, St. Hillaire came through with a 45.97 time to finish in seventh place.  Lang also advanced by finishing seventh in the 200m dash with a mark of 20.83 seconds.

The Kentucky women competed Friday night.  Steiner highlighted the effort by finishing first in the 200m dash with a time of 22.52 seconds, qualifying her for Saturday.

In addition to finals in the running events, Saturday will feature UK’s school-record-setting men’s and women’s 4×400-meter relays.

The meet began Thursday and UK hit the scoreboard when Annika Williams posted a personal best 4173 points to finish sixth in the women’s pentathlon.

ESPN3 will stream the championships live.  A re-air of the championship will take place Sunday, March 14, at 9 p.m. on ESPNU.
