No. 14 Kentucky to Host No. 2 LSU on Senior Night
LEXINGTON, Ky. – Coming off its first official road loss in the Southeastern Conference standings, No. 14 Kentucky (3-3, 3-2 SEC) is set to return home for its 2021 home finale versus No. 2 LSU (4-2, 3-2 SEC) on Friday at 7 p.m. ET, with John Roethlesberger and Alicia Sacromone Quinn live on the call for SEC Network.
The meeting marks LSU’s first visit to Memorial Coliseum since the then-17th-ranked Wildcats defeated the fifth-ranked Tigers 197.150-196.025 on Feb. 8, 2019.
Kentucky enters Friday fresh off a 197.500-196.875 loss at No. 1 Florida last week. Sophomore sensation Raena Worley led the way for the Cats with a career-high all-around score of 39.600, while the Kentucky balance beam rotation produced the program’s highest score on the event since 2019.
As a whole, Kentucky surpassed the 49-point threshold on all four events for the third meet in a row and scored higher on each consecutive rotation than it did the one prior.
LSU comes to Lexington on the heels of back-to-back losses, falling 198.150-198.050 to Florida on Feb. 12 and 197.725-197.325 at No. 6 Alabama on Feb. 19.
As Kentucky’s final home meet, Friday will also serve as the program’s annual senior night. Head coach Tim Garrison and the Wildcats will honor Megan Monfredi, Mackenzie Harman, Madison Averett, Ella Warren and Allison Snyder following the competition.
