A.J. Stamps to Play in NFLPA Collegiate Bowl
LEXINGTON, Ky. — Kentucky senior safety A.J. Stamps has been invited to play in the National Football League Players Association Collegiate Bowl, it was announced.
Stamps, a native of Vicksburg, Miss., was a two-year starter in the Kentucky secondary after transferring from East Mississippi Community College. A 6-foot, 205-pounder, Stamps played in all 24 games of his Kentucky career, totaling 123 tackles, five interceptions and 13 pass break-ups. As a senior, Stamps ranked third on the team with 67 tackles, picking off a pass and equaling the team lead with eight pass break-ups.
Stamps will join fellow Kentucky senior Farrington Huguenin in the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl. In addition, senior linebacker Josh Forrest will play in the 2016 Reese’s Senior Bowl and senior defensive tackle Cory Johnson will play in the East-West Shrine Game.
The game will kickoff at 6 p.m. ET at the StubHub Center on the campus on California State University Dominquez Hills on Jan. 23.
