LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky Wildcats (3-9-4, 3-4-2 SBC) are set to begin their postseason campaign Sunday afternoon in a meeting with the No. 2 seed Marshall Thundering Herd (10-2-4, 6-1-2 SBC) in the Sun Belt Tournament Quarterfinal in Huntington, W.Va.

Kentucky faces Marshall for the 44th time in program history on Sunday, including their second meeting this season. In September, the Thundering Herd defeated the Wildcats in Lexington 1-0, dropping Kentucky’s all-time series record to 22-15-6.

The Wildcats are unbeaten in their previous three matches and are winners of two straight entering the conference tournament, closing out the regular season with wins over Georgia Southern and Georgia State and a draw on the road against James Madison.

On Friday, in the Sun Belt’s all-conference awards release, forward Costa Iliadis was named to the SBC All-Freshman Team, along with two other forwards, including Georgia Southern’s Broden Beorlegui and Marshall’s Ramado Pierre-Louis. Iliadis leads the Wildcats in all major offensive categories, including goals (3), assists (3), points (9), shots (41) and shots on goal (10).

Marshall enters postseason play on a six-match winning streak, earning the No. 2 seed and tying West Virginia on 20 points. The Thundering Herd are coming off a 3-0 win over Old Dominion in the regular season finale, improving their overall record to 10-2-4, and 6-1-2 in conference play.

Marshall featured five players on the Sun Belt postseason awards list, including midfielder Carl Romberg being named to the All-SBC First Team and midfielder Nikita Pahkomov and forward Ramando Pierre-Louis being selected to the Second Team. Defender Goncalo Machado and goalkeeper Yuri Obert were selected to the All-Freshman Team.

Kickoff for Kentucky at Marshall is scheduled for 3 p.m. ET on Sunday, streaming on ESPN+.
