Kentucky Faces Georgia State in Regular Season Finale
LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky Wildcats (2-9-4, 2-4-2 SBC) are set to close out the 2026 regular season on Tuesday night in Atlanta, Ga. against the Georgia State Panthers (7-8-2, 1-6-1 SBC).
Kentucky faces Georgia State for the sixth time in program history, boasting a 4-0-1 all-time series record. Last year, the Wildcats defeated the Panthers on senior night to officially clinch the 2025 Sun Belt Conference regular season title.
The Wildcats are unbeaten in their previous two matches, earning a 1-0 win over Georgia Southern on senior night and a scoreless draw on the road against James Madison. The win over Georgia Southern propelled Kentucky into seventh place in the Sun Belt Conference table with one match remaining until the start of the SBC Tournament on Nov. 8.
Four Wildcats are tied for the team lead in the scoring department entering the final two games of the regular season, including midfielders Agustin Lopez and Yasha Schaerer, and forwards Costa Iliadis and Michael Lee. Kentucky has also gotten goal scoring contributions from seven other players this season, including Ari Saliu’s first career goal in their previous outing.
On the defensive side of the ball, Kentucky has kept a clean sheet in two consecutive matches for the first time since Oct. 31 of last season.
Georgia State enters the final match day of the regular season coming off a 5-1 defeat on the road against UCF last week, dropping their overall record to 7-8-2, and 1-6-1 in conference play. The Panthers currently rank 10th in the Sun Belt table with four points and have been eliminated from contention for the SBC Tournament.
Georgia State is led by leading goal scorer Virgil Dall’Agnol with three goals and five assists on the season. Defensively, goalkeeper Jackson Burrell leads the Sun Belt with 67 saves and 5.15 saves per game.
Kickoff for Kentucky at Georgia State is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET, streaming on ESPN+.
