LEXINGTON, Ky. – The No. 25 University of Kentucky women’s golf team is back on the track this weekend, competing at the Landfall Tradition at the Landfall Country Club (Dye Course) in Wilmington, North Carolina, Friday through Sunday.

The Wildcats will tee off in the first round Friday beginning at 8:30 a.m. ET off hole No. 10. They’ll be paired with NC State and Michigan State. The field will compete across 54 holes of stroke play over three days, while the golf course will be playing at a par-72 for 6,223 yards.

Eighteen teams are in the field, including No. 1 Wake Forest, Indiana, Kent State, No. 17 Florida State, Michigan State, No. 25 Kentucky, UNCW, Clemson, East Carolina, Southern Methodist, No. 7 South Carolina, South Florida, NC State, No. 2 Auburn, No. 6 Duke, Central Florida, No. 19 Alabama and North Carolina.

Kentucky played in this event just last year, making quite the splash through two rounds. UK was tied for second place after the first round before earning tied for fourth place after the second round. UK ultimately put together a 15-over for ninth place out of 18 teams.

The Wildcats’ lineup this week includes senior Cathryn Brown, junior C.A. Carter, freshman Lucy Cook, junior Isabella Johnson and junior Karlie Campbell. It will mark the second straight tournament they have used this lineup.

That fivesome is coming off a strong performance – though cut short – at The Ally at Old Waverly Golf Club in West Point, Mississippi, more than two weeks ago.

Despite the tournament lasting just two rounds, the lineup went just 5-over to tie for fourth place in the elite field. In fact, Kentucky tied with the third-ranked team in the nation in Florida. It also hauled in three individual finishes in the top 20.

Bluegrass natives Cathryn Brown and C.A. Carter led the team in Mississippi, while Brown has paced the team after all three tournaments this fall.

Brown, a senior from Eddyville, Kentucky, is the 35th ranked player in the nation, according to Scoreboard powered by Clippd, for her 70.7 stoke average through eight rounds to start the season.

This week, the field can expect sunny skies and temperatures in the low-to-mid 70s.
