Milan Momcilovic, Malachi Moreno Tabbed Preseason All-SEC Honorees

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Kentucky men’s basketball’s “M&M” combo garnered preseason recognitions from the Southeastern Conference on Monday as Milan Momcilovic was selected to the All-SEC Second Team while Malachi Moreno was picked to the third team ahead of the 2026-27 campaign.

Momcilovic arrives in Lexington by way of Iowa State, where he put up gaudy numbers as a junior last season. The 6-foot-9 forward led the country in both total 3-pointers made (136) and 3-point field goal percentage (48.7%) on his way to averaging a career-high 16.9 points per game. Momcilovic was a Second Team All-Big 12 and Big 12 All-Tournament Team selection, helping the Cyclones to a 29-8 overall record and a No. 2 seed in the NCAA Tournament.

Last season, Momcilovic scored in double figures 29 times, including 14 games with 20 or more points. His 136 made 3s ranked second all-time in Big 12 single-season history, while also setting an Iowa State program record. During his three years in Ames, Momcilovic connected on 260 3-pointers in total, ranking him tied for the second-most in program history. For his career, Momcilovic has made 101 starts and appeared in 102 contests while averaging 13.2 points per game along with 3.2 rebounds. He is a career 42.9% shooter from beyond the arc.

Moreno is back for his second season at Kentucky after earning All-SEC Freshman Team honors a year ago. The native of Georgetown, Kentucky made 30 starts for the Wildcats as a freshman and averaged 7.8 points per game along with a team-best 6.3 rebounds. He was an efficient 58.2% from the field while blocking 53 shots on the defensive end, leading the team in both metrics.

In his debut collegiate season, Moreno scored in double-figures 11 times and posted three double-doubles. He also displayed his passing prowess, registering 12 games with three or more assists and averaging 1.8 assists per game for the season.

As a team, Kentucky was picked to finish seventh in the conference by a panel of both SEC and national media members.

The Wildcats tipoff in their first exhibition contest inside Rupp Arena at Central Bank Center on Friday, Oct. 16 at 7 p.m. vs. Little Rock. The first regular season game of the season is slated for Nov. 3 vs. Manhattan at 7 p.m.
