Wildcats Return to Sun Belt Play for Road Meeting with UCF on Sunday
LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky Wildcats (0-5-2, 0-1-0 SBC) are set to return to Sun Belt Conference play on Sunday, Sept. 27 for a meeting with the UCF Knights (4-2-2, 0-1-0 SBC) in Orlando, Fla. at the UCF Track and Soccer Complex.
Currently leading the all-time series 7-6-2, Kentucky faces UCF for the 16th time in program history on Sunday. The Wildcats and the Knights met twice in 2025, first in the regular season with Kentucky coming away with a 3-2 win at home, and second in the Sun Belt Tournament semifinal, resulting in a 1-0 win for UCF in Lexington on their way to an SBC Tournament Title.
The Wildcats are seeking their first win of the 2026 season when they travel to Orlando following a 2-1 loss to the Lipscomb Bisons on Tuesday in their penultimate nonconference match of the season. For the nonconference finale, UK will face the second-ranked Indiana Hoosiers in Bloomington on Oct. 6.
Freshman forward Costa Iliadis continues to lead the Wildcats offensive attack, tied with forward Michael Lee for the team lead on two goals, and three assists, which is tied for second in the Sun Belt Conference. The Canadian international has also recorded a team-high seven points, 18 total shots and six attempts on goal.
UCF enters match day nine of the season, coming off a 1-1 draw with Stetson in their final nonconference outing, moving the Knights overall record to 4-2-2. In their Sun Belt Conference opener last week, UCF fell in a 1-0 result on the road against James Madison due to a 79th minute winner from Dukes’ forward Carlos Tur.
Entering play Sunday, the Knights rank among the Sun Belt Conference leaders in shutout percentage (.625, 1st in SBC), team goals-against average (.750, 2nd in SBC) and save percentage (.778, 2nd in SBC).
Kickoff for Kentucky at UCF from Orlando, Fla. is scheduled for 4 p.m. ET, streaming on ESPN+.
