Wildcats Continue Homestand, Host No. 4 Ohio State
LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky Wildcats (0-2-2) are set to continue their second homestand of the season as they host the fourth-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes (4-0-0) in a Tuesday night matchup at the Bell Soccer Complex.
Kentucky faces Ohio State for 17th time in program history on Tuesday night, splitting an all-time series record of 6-6-4. Their previous meeting with the Buckeyes came during the 2023 season, resulting in a 3-0 defeat for the Wildcats.
The Wildcats are seeking their first win of the 2026 season when the Buckeyes come to Lexington. Kentucky currently sits at 0-2-2 following a pair of draws against Western Michigan and Evansville, and two defeats against Louisville and Virginia Tech.
Five different Wildcats have scored through the first four games of the season, including midfielder Yasha Schaerer and forwards Costa Iliadis, Tom Keller, Michael Lee and Thomas Berteotti. Iliadis also leads the team with three assists, appearing in each of his first four career games.
Ohio State enters match day five of the season coming off a 5-0 win over Northern Kentucky, improving their record to 4-0. Earlier in the season, the Buckeyes defeated Virginia Tech in their season opener, prior to defeating DePaul and Memphis in a pair of consecutive shutouts. Ohio State has proven to display a stout defensive backline and has yet to allow a single goal through the first four games of the 2026 season. Forward Isaiah Chisolm currently leads the Buckeyes attack with seven goals, 14 points and nine shots on goal.
Kickoff for Tuesday night’s matchup at The Bell is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET, streaming live on ESPN+.
The promotion for tomorrow night’s game is heroes/first responders’ night, encouraging all local first responders to come out to The Bell, support the Cats and be recognized at halftime. There will also be a UK men’s soccer scarf giveaway to all fans in attendance.
